Art Experiences can come in all kinds of forms: Kiln openings, exhibitions, to see New Pottery...Watercolor Paintings...Wearable Art Jewelry/Ceramic Bead making classes - maybe we'll mix it up with a bluegrass jam or two, you never know.

Studio Tours. Girls'-Night-Out Workshops, artists play-date and collaborations, and who-knows-what-else we can think of are in our future!

These things have swirled around in my head for years. It is what I have already done, in embryonic form, on occasion . . . but the time is coming (after a few finishing touches to the studio), to make it happen. For Real!
Thanks for coming along!

"The Potter and the Clay" by Debby Kooy is a live demonstration that I did for church groups, schools and other gatherings for over 20 years, all over the Pacific Northwest.

This live demonstration that I have done is in part an overview and explanation of the art of wheel-thrown pottery making, as well as a theological treatise on the sovereignty of God and His creative power, reflected in Biblical passages such as Jeremiah 18 and Romans 9.

The idea for "The Potter and the Clay" demonstration first occurred to me while I was still an Art Major at the University of Northern Colorado. I wrote the script and did my first demonstration while quite pregnant with my fourth child, in 1985.

I had to stop doing these demos when my father's health began to fail in 2008, (he passed in 2009) until the eventual death of my mother in 2019. The year of 2020, of course, derailed my ability to reboot this endeavor, but not the desire to do so.

I have included fresh insights and many script revisions over the years. I am happy to say that the basic message has remained the same and many people have related how blessed they have been and how much they enjoyed watching and hearing my pottery demo.
